Re: PEP Unit Faculty Resolutions

At today's regularly scheduled meeting of the PEP faculty unit, members of the PEP faculty passed two resolutions.

1. "We support the work of the PEP Diversity and Field Placement Committee and their written response to the Action Plans for University Strategic Goals One and Five." (see memorandum dated 3/31/06)
2. "We, the PEP Faculty, support the PEP Diversity and Field Placement Committee's memorandum dated April 24, 2006, concerning the Final Presidential Candidates and Gallaudet's Strategic Diversity Initiative. Furthermore, we the PEP faculty believe there are serious concerns about the integrity of the search process; therefore, we respectfully request that:

1. Dr. Jane Fernandes step down as President of Gallaudet University, and
2. That a new search process be conducted."
